One charged after fatal crash in Accomack County

State Police say they are investigating a fatal crash, that happened in Accomack County.

Virginia State Police say around 5:45 PM on Wednesday, Troopers responded to Belinda Road, south of Marsh Market Road, in Hallwood, for reports of a single vehicle accident.

Once on scene, Troopers say they learned that a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado, driven by Christopher Hernandez, was driving westbound on Belinda Road – Route 692, when he ran off the road, overturning and ejecting the passenger, 25-year-old Joseph Kent, of Hallwood.

Police say Kent was not wearing his seat belt, and died at the scene. Hernandez reportedly suffered non life threatening  injuries, and was charged with reckless driving. Alcohol apparently did not play a factor in the accident.
