No vacancy at Delaware State Parks

If you’re thinking of camping or getting a cabin or a cottage at one of Delaware’s state parks this weekend officials say you should definitely rethink your plans.

That’s because state park officials are saying every campsite cabin and cottage has been booked solid for the holiday weekend.

State park officials say they were booked to capacity on Monday of this week.

Something they say is pretty unusual. However officials believe the nice forecast had many planning ahead and planning to spend the weekend outside.

“I think people want to disconnect especially with their time off you come out to a park like Trappe you can rent a kayak, we have a trail that circa-navigates the pond its sitting around the fire roasting marshmallows, I think that’s more in demand,” said Ray Bivens, director of Delaware State Parks.

The good news is campers can go online now to make reservations for the July fourth weekend.

Delaware State Park officials also want to let people know that admission will be waived to all state parks on June fifth to celebrate the State parks 65th year anniversary.
