Nat’l Day Of Prayer celebrated on Delmarva

Across the nation Thursday, many celebrated the National Day Of Prayer. This includes a number of churches and agencies on Delmarva.

Several dozen piled into the Trinity United Methodist Church on High Street in Salisbury on Thursday.

Various prayers, including ones dedicated to youth, public safety officials, homes, and military officials, were led by members in the community.

The national theme this year is “Wake Up America”.

Tom Robinson, a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, says he’s been attending the event in Salisbury for about five years.

“It’s a great time for the community to come together to offer prayer for our nation, and it’s just wonderful that we can do that,” Says Robinson. “I think we really do need that as a nation.”

In Delaware, Governor Jack Markell delivered remarks at the 56th Annual Governor’s Prayer Breakfast. That event was held at the Modern Maturity Center in Dover.
