Milford man charged in domestic assault and police standoff

Police in Milford say on April 21, 28-year-old Jason Dailey was arrested after apparently assaulting a woman and a short stand of with police.
According to reports, the incident began on April 20 at a home on South Dupont Highway. Investigators say, Dailey was involved in an argument with the 30 year-old female victim and during the fight he allegedly hit and choked her. Dailey then reportedly stopped and the two left the home together. A short time later, when the two returned, they were reportedly involved in another argument. This time Dailey allegedly punched the female victim in the face and slammed her head against the wall. That’s when the female victim reportedly fled.
The next day just before 4:45 PM the Milford Police say they went to the home on South Dupont Highway to take Dailey into custody. After a brief standoff, Dailey reportedly exited the residence and surrendered to officers.
Police have charged Dailey with strangulation, harassment, offensive touching allowing with resisting arrest. He was later arraigned and committed to SCI in default of a secured bond.
