MD Welcome Centers reopen for Summer season

The Maryland Department of Commerce announced that both of it’s tourism Welcome Centers will be opening back up, just in time for the summer season. Even though they will be shut for Memorial Day, it’s a big step forward considering that both were shut down for 6 years.
Members of the Department of Commerce say the reasons for the two locations closing, were monetary issues. The Youghiogheny Overlook Center in Garrett County is located 6 miles east of the Virginia/Maryland border on eastbound I-68, and the Bay Country Center in Queen Anne’s County is located about 10 miles north of the route 50 East/Route 301 North split.
The centers will be open for business Thursday through Monday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and will be closed on all major holidays.
