Man gets nearly 7 years for heroin distribution ring

Federal prosecutors say a Delaware man has been sentenced to nearly seven years in prison for his involvement in a heroin distribution ring.

Authorities said 32-year-old Daywine Hunter was sentenced Friday after being convicted for conspiracy to distribute heroin.

Prosecutors say Hunter sent couriers to Philadelphia to get heroin and distributed the drugs from an auto detailing shop he owned in Wilmington.

Hunter and his co-defendants were arrested after authorities intercepted Hunter’s calls and covertly installed surveillance equipment in the shop.

Three others who prosecutors say were involved in the ring, including Hunter’s father, have already been sentenced. A fourth person is awaiting sentencing.
