Man charged for assaulting another in Hebron, over dog

Aaron Joel Matthews, 23, No Fixed Address

A man is facing charges, after Police say he assaulted someone over a dog, in Hebron.

The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office says on Sunday around 5:40 PM, a Deputy responded to a property on North Main Street, for reports of an altercation. Once on scene, the Deputy says they met with the resident of the home, who said that he was punched by 23-year-old Aaron Matthews.

The victim reportedly told the Deputy that Matthews had walked up to him, and confronted him about who owned the victim’s dog. According to the report, Matthews said that the victim had his dog, and then said that the dog belonged to a friend of his.

The Deputy arrested Matthews, and charged him with assault second degree, and trespassing. He was then ordered to be held at the Wicomico County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond.
