Local organizations donate car to local boxing coach

On Wednesday, local boxing coach Hal Chernoff, who is also the owner of the Main Street Gym in Salisbury, was given some new wheels. Prior to that he was driving around a Nissan Sentra which had about 300,000 miles on it.
Over the years Hal has been a staple of the Salisbury community, giving many at-risk youth the change to train in his gym.
“This is unbelievable. My car was beyond needing to be replaced, it was unsafe and in the gym it was getting to be a joke.” Said Chernoff.
His new car, which was presented by Caliber Collision, Geico and Pohanka, was donated as a part of the the National Auto Body Council’s Recycled Rides program. It has just 20,000 miles on it.
