Hurlock man charged with sexual abuse of a minor

A Hurlock man is behind bars, after Police say he sexually abused a child.

The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office says on Wednesday, Deputies assisted the Hurlock Police Department with the apprehension and arrest of 40-year-old Brian Simpkins, of Hurlock.

According to the report, Simpkins was wanted in connection with a sexual abuse case, that Hurlock Police investigated back in April. Investigators say Simpkins sexually abused a minor female, that lived in a home with him, on numerous occasions.

After his arrest, Police say they charged him with sex abuse of a minor, sexual solicitation of a minor, three counts of perverted sexual practice, and other related offenses. Simpkins is now being held at the Dorchester County Detention Center on a $450,000 bond.
