Hurlock man arrested on drug charges, after traffic stop

A traffic stop in Dorchester County, led to the discovery of marijuana and heroin, according to investigators.

The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office says on May 24, a Deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. During the stop, Investigators say a Sheriff’s Office narcotics K-9 gave a positive alert for the presence of illegal narcotics in the vehicle.

The vehicle was then searched, with reportedly turned up 30 grams of marijuana, and 24 individual packets of heroin. A passenger in the car, 32-year-old Phillip Elliott, of Hurlock, was arrested, and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of heroin, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of heroin with intent to distribute.

He was later released from custody, by a Court Commissioner.
