Hogan exec. order rescinds 72 prior exec. orders

72 previous executive orders, dating back to the Marvin Mandel administration, have been wiped clean. On Tuesday, Governor Larry Hogan signed Executive Order 01.01.2016.06, eliminating old orders.
We’re told among the 72 that were wiped clean, more than half dealt with boards and commissions that have either been suspended by legislation or have not met in years.
The Governor’s Office says this repeal of executive action is the largest since Governor William Schaefer repealed 48 executive orders back in 1995.
“Our administration is focused on creating a government that works for the people instead of the other way around,” said Governor Hogan. “This removal of almost five decades of unnecessary and outdated gubernatorial directives demonstrates our continued commitment to modernize and streamline Maryland state government, including many antiquated and out-of-date regulations.”
