Graduates share favorite memories from UMES

Smiles went from ear to ear as families and friends watched their loved ones cross the stage at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s 2016 spring commencement Friday morning.
474 degrees were awarded, but only 473 students graduated.
One student received two undergraduate degrees; one in math and the other and in computer science.
47 ABC caught up with some graduates right after they received their diplomas on Friday. They shared with us their favorite memories from their time at UMES.
Lavelll Allen says, “I would say the people, the atmosphere, the students, and everything like that. They made me feel welcome.”
Aleaya Bowie says, “Being in the honors program and doing fun trips and things like that was the best.”
Emily Diseroad says, “Definitely playing softball. On my senior day I hit a home run so that’s my favorite memory being here.”
UMES’s fall commencement is scheduled for the third Friday in December.
