Georgetown man charged for Super Tienda burglary

A Georgetown man has been charged, in connection with the burglary of a local store.

Georgetown Police say on May 15, Officers responded to reports of a burglary at the Super Tienda Store on North King Street. Once on scene, they say they found that the back door of the business had been shattered, the cash register pried open, and an undisclosed amount of cash missing.

On May 19, Police say they determined that 33-year-old Jovan Hembree was a person of interest in their investigation.

He was then taken into custody, and charged with burglary third degree, possession of burglary tools, theft under $1,000, and criminal mischief. He is now in the custody of the Department of Correction on a violation of probation.
