Edward Husbands trial postponed

The trial for Edward Husbands, a former Milford school district assistant principal who’s facing sexual abuse charges, has been postponed in Sussex County.

We’re told a continuance motion was granted by a judge late yesterday during an office conference. Husbands, who was the assistant principal at Benjamin Banneker Elementary School, was arrested last summer for allegedly inappropriately touching three young girls. We’re told they were spending the night at his house in Milton. The alleged crimes date back to December of 2014.

Police say one of the victim’s, who was 10-years-old at the time, reported this explaining she had been inappropriately touched by her friend’s father.

Husbands is facing a number of sexual abuse charges. A date has not yet been set for the new trial.
