Dover apartment barricade situation resolved

Members of the Dover Police department say they received a call of a resident of Liberty Court Apartments acting unruly, breaking windows, and throwing items out of his second floor residence.
Dover Police say when officers arrived, the subject had a hammer and refused to cooperate with first responders. At that point, Dover PD called upon their Crisis Negotiation Team and Special Operations Team to assist.
Police say at 4:41 PM, the subject apartment began communicating with officers, and was escorted from the second floor apartment.
Authorities are reportedly not releasing the man’s name. The man was reportedly transported to a nearby hospital for an evaluation and treatment of a condition that caused the abnormal behavior.
Police say no charges are anticipated at this time.
