Delaware pushes for appeal in power line case

Delaware officials are now asking for a re-hearing from Federal Energy and Regulatory Commission (FERC) on their decision to require Delaware electricity customers to bear the cost of installing a transmission line that officials said will largely benefit New Jersey.
The $272 million dollar projected was recommended by FERC to increase sustainability.
However after analysis showed that the project would only provide a ten percent benefit to Delaware residents, but would require them to pay 90 percent of the cost Delaware officials asked FERC to reconsider.
Heather Contant, ombudsman for the Delaware Public Service Commissions says as of now the project would cost residents between $4 and $12 per month extra on their bills.
Delaware officials say right now there is no timetable as to when FERC will approve the request for a re-hearing.
