American Red Cross to host home fire campaign in Salisbury

American Red Cross volunteers will go door to door to educate residence about fire safety, and install free smoke alarms in homes that are not properly equipped.
The campaign begins on Saturday, May 7, in Salisbury, and door knocking will be from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Officials say, the initiative is part of the national American Red Cross Home Fire Campaign, which is designed to reduce the number of fire deaths and injuries across the country.
Theresa Young, Executive Director of the American Red Cross of Delmarva says in a news release, “Installing these free smoke alarms and handing out educational materials explaining how to create a home fire evacuation plan ensures that our community is better prepared for a home fire and can respond quickly, should one occur.”
Officials say, anyone interested in volunteering with the event can register through the link below, and Red Cross volunteer experience is not needed, as training will be provided the day of the event.
