18-year-old accused of raping 13-year-old in Salisbury

Police in Salisbury say they have arrested an 18-year-old Salisbury man, on rape charges.
According to charging documents, an Officer with the Salisbury Police Department met with a 13-year-old girl, in reference to a rape. According to the report, on May 23 the 13-year-old was walking with 18-year-old Tevin Dennis, on Waverly Drive, near Newton Street.
While walking, Police say Dennis attacked the victim in the parking lot of 218 Newton Street, before he put his arm around her neck to prevent her from screaming, or leaving. Charging documents go on to state that the victim was in fear for her life, and wasn’t able to breathe with Dennis’ arm around throat.
Police say Dennis then pulled off the victim’s pants and underwear, and forced himself on her. The victim reportedly told Police that she told Dennis no multiple times, while trying to fight him off, but that Dennis held her, pinned against a car in the parking lot. After a few minutes, the victim was apparently able to scream, and fight Dennis off, before breaking free, and running from the area.
Police say the victim pointed Dennis out in a photo line up. He has since been charged with rape first and second degree, sex offense first, second, and third degree, sex offense fourth degree – sex contact, assault first and second degree, reckless endangerment, and false imprisonment. Dennis is now being held at the Wicomico County Detention Center, without bond.
