Vikings Score Early, Bleyer Brings Home Win

The Cambridge SD softball team picked up a very impressive road win Monday when they traveled to Colonel Richardson and pulled out a 5-1 win. The win improves the Vikings to 9-2, while the Colonels drop to 8-4. 

The Vikings would get on the board early, taking a 5-0 lead after a 2 RBI single from Paige Bleyer. The lead looked to be more than enough for Bleyer, who got the start on the bump and was dealing early. The Colonels would settle in defensively as well though, getting a good outing from Jen Larrimore. The Colonels then would get a run back late to climb back within 4. But Bleyer would be able to close the door for the important conference win. 

Cambridge SD returns to work on Tuesday when they host Saint Michaels, while Colonel Richardson travels to Queen Anne’s on Tuesday.
