UPDATE: Suspect(s) wanted in Salisbury fatal shooting

Officials in Wicomico County say they are searching for the person or persons responsible for an overnight shooting that left one man dead.

According to Maryland State Police, troopers from the Salisbury Barrack were called to a home on Pierce Avenue, shortly before 10:00 PM Sunday, for a reported shooting. When troopers arrived, the home owner reportedly told them she had just arrived at the residence and found her boyfriend, 24-year-old Irvonte Jones, of Salisbury, lying unresponsive in a bedroom. Jones had apparently sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to PRMC where he was pronounced dead. Officials say, his body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy.

Investigators say preliminary investigation indicates Jones was alone in the home when he was shot.

Troopers report a suspect description, motive, nor if the person(s) forced their way into the home, or were let in by the victim are known at this time.
