UPDATE: Shooting investigation underway in Salisbury

Maryland State Police are on the scene of a shooting investigation on Pierce Rd. in Salisbury, Md. Officials say the victim has been transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, however his status is unknown. 

Authorities say as of now information is limited as the investigation remains in its early stages. Maryland State Police say that currently no suspects have been named. 

Police say they do not believe the public is at risk. 

Officials on scene say that the investigation is being lead by the Wicomico County Bureau of Investigation and the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit.
