According to Hurlock Police Chief Michael Henry, the victim and the suspect were fighting at a house on Gold Rush Lane in Hurlock Friday afternoon when one man allegedly hit the other with a wooden object. That’s when police say the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim twice.

We’re told the victim was able to escape to a neighbor’s house to call police. He was transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where he later died.

Police were called to the scene around 2:30 Friday afternoon. Maryland State Police are leading the investigation and are being assisted by the Dorchester County Sheriffs office.
