UPDATE: Offender back in custody after not returning from Work Release

UPDATE: Sarah Hudson is back in custody, according to the Dept. of Corrections. Hudson was reportedly apprehended following a tip to the Sussex Co. Corrections Center. The DOC says she is being held at the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office awaiting extradition.

The Delaware Department of Correction says Sarah Hudson, 39, failed to return from an authorized work pass from the Sussex Work Release Center in Georgetown on Thursday.

DOC describes Hudson as a white female, 5’08”, 220 lbs., with hazel eyes and brown hair. She also reportedly has tattoos on her right ankle and left and right arms.

According to officials, Hudson was serving time for Violation of Probation – original charge of Theft Rent.

The DOC also clarifies that Community Corrections Centers, like Sussex Work Release Center, are Level 4 facilities where the Department of Correction manages offenders who are transitioning back into the community. Offenders are permitted to the leave the facility to go to work, seek jobs or attend approved treatment sessions.
