UPDATE: Fire started on roof of OC condominium

Authorities say they are investigating a fire on the roof of a Condominium complex in Ocean City, that could be seen from Berlin.

According to a spokeswoman for the town, the blaze at Capri Condominiums broke out just after 12:00 PM Wednesday afternoon. We’re told the fire was isolated to the building’s roof. The fire apparently started with a tar pot, on the roof, that was being re-tarred. The fire spread to the 20th floor pent house apartment.

Damage to the building is reportedly limited to the roof, and the Pent House. Officials say that smoke from the blaze could be seen from Berlin.

Authorities say the building was occupied at the time of the fire, but no injuries have been reported.

Six fire companies apparently reported to the scene, to assist Ocean City, with the two alarm blaze. Crews remained on scene for about three hours.
