UPDATE: Beebe Healthcare lifts visitor age restrictions

Flu concerns are apparently subsiding in Sussex County, prompting a local hospital to lift their temporary visitors policy.
Back in March, Beebe Healthcare stopped allowing children under the age of 16 to visit hospitalized patients, because of concerns of flu. Officials say they number of flu cases in the county has subsided, so Beebe has lifted this restriction.
Children under the age of 16 are now allowed to visit hospitalized patients, and should continue to be accompanied by an adult. Beebe says restricting children visitors was aimed at protecting the health and safety of patients, as well as visitors, children, and those caring for patients, as children are at a greater risk for flu complications, and are contagious longer than adults.
The organization says they would like to thank everyone for their patience and support of patient safety, while the temporary visitor policy was in place.
