UPDATE: Alcohol believed to be a factor in fatal MD 404 crash

According to Maryland State Police, alcohol may have played a role in a Friday night fatal crash on MD 404.
We’re told 29-year-old Joshua Adam Royal of Newport News, Va., was driving west on MD 404 around 9:30 p.m., when his Chevy Tahoe crossed the center of the road and hit the victim’s car. Following the initial collision, police say the victim’s Mercedes traveled off the roadway and struck a ditch.
The victim was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene. Police say Royal was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
We’re told this crash is still under investigation and no charges have yet been filed.
