Trump rally draws packed crowd in Berlin

Nearly 10,000 people flooded Stephen Decatur High School on Wednesday for a rally held for republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, with over 1,000 making it into the gym for the speech.
A sea of applause filled the room as Trump took his spot on stage.
“Maryland’s very important, I promise you this,” Says Trump. “We’re going to get the nomination, I’m going to go on to beat Hillary.”
Wednesday marked six days before the Maryland primary.
Lisa Hubbard, a resident of Thurmont, says she had been hoping Trump would make a visit to Maryland. She tells 47ABC, she and her son Andrew drove four hours for the rally.
“He’s [Trump] honest, he’s pro America,” Says Hubbard. “I mean, America is not a bad word. It’s a good word! And we need somebody who going to unite us, because we’re all Americans.”
What drove the energy at the rally was the list of priorities Trump vowed to take action on if he snags the republican nomination. This list included cutting common core, lowering taxes and implementing what he called smarter trade deals.
“Ladies and gentlemen, if you leave the United States, you fire all of these employees, you go to Mexico or wherever you’re going, we’re going to impose a 35 percent tax on any item that you sell in this country,” Trump told the crowd Wednesday.
Trump also claimed politics was a “dirty, dirty business”, telling the crowd he believed the delegate-system was rigged.
Ocean City resident Ruben Oretega says it’s Trump’s knowledge of trade that he finds most appealing.
“I was not really a ‘Trumpeteer’, per se but I wanted to make sure that if I’m going to vote for somebody, that it’s the right reasons,” Says Oretega.
In response to Trump’s promise of building a wall between the U.S. and Mexico border, Oretega says he’s not opposed.
“The jobs that we would create not only building it but if you do the math maintaining that wall and keeping that wall going for years and years and years not only with border patrol but with infrastructure and keeping it…you know, all of the things that it takes to do that,” He says. “To me, that’s pretty awesome also.”
47 ABC reached out to the campaign teams of Governor John Kasich and Senator Ted Cruz on whether they will make stops on the Eastern Shore of Maryland before the primary election on April 26. We have not received an official comment yet.
Cruz, however, is scheduled to make a campaign stop in Frederick, Maryland on Thursday.
There is also no word yet of trips to Maryland by Hillary Clinton or Senator Bernie Sanders.
Trump is scheduled to make another appearance on Thursday in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Harrington, Delaware on Friday.
