Troopers make arrest in Dover attempted robbery

Delaware State Police say the man behind a January attempted robbery at the Micotel Hotel in Dover has been was arrested.

We’re told 28-year-old Shondell Johnson of Dover was arrested Friday. Police say after he was contacted, he willingly turned himself in.

In the January 8th incident, Johnson allegedly entered the hotel, displayed a gun, and demanded cash. He apparently fled the scene without any money. Police say no injuries were reported in the incident.

According to authorities, Johnson faces First Degree Attempted Robbery Displays What Appears to be a Deadly Weapon and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony charges.

We’re told Johnson was released after posing $20,000 secured bond.
