Three homes and 100 acres of woods damaged by fire in Rehoboth Beach

A fire that damaged four properties in Rehoboth Beach on Wednesday, has been ruled as accidental.
The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office says the flame were reported just before 10:30 AM, at a home on G Street in the Rehoboth Bay Mobile Home Park. The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company then reported to the scene, to find heavy fire showing from the mobile home.
Rehoboth fire crews with help from the Lewes, Indian River, Bethany Beach, Milton, and Memorial of Slaughter Beach fire companies extinguished the blaze. According to the report, the fire caused two propane tanks to vent, and fuel the fire. Officials say the home was occupied at the time of the fire, but they, along with the neighbors, were able to escape. No injuries were reported.
Officials say the fire was under control around 11:20 PM. Four adults are being assisted by the American Red Cross with housing and other items.
Deputies from the State Fire Marshal’s Office reportedly responded, and found that the flames were started by an electrical malfunction in branch circuit wiring. The cause has been ruled as accidental.
The fire reportedly caused heavy damage to one mobile home and exposure damage to three other properties, which include two mobile homes, and about 100 acres of marsh and wood lands. Damages are estimated at $75,000 for the three mobile homes.
