Shorebirds Drop Home Opener To Suns

The Delmarva Shorebirds dropped their home opener Thursday afternoon to the Suns 4-1 after falling behind early on. The loss drops the ‘Birds to 4-4 now on the year. Hagerstown would grab the lead off an RBI single in the first by Ryan Ripken sent a single into left that was mishandled, and allowed a run to come in. The Suns then stretched their lead to 3-0 in the 2nd after they got a 2 RBI single from Max Schrock. Delmarva would get a run back in the Ademar Rifaela would hit into a RBI fielders choice. But that would be the only run they could ever drive in as they went on to drop this one. The teams returns to action Friday night for the second game in their series, with first pitch set at 7 pm.
