Second Half Rally Lifts SU To CAC Title

The Salisbury University women’s lacrosse overcame a very slow start to rally in the second half to earn a 8-7 win over York to advance to the CAC Championship game. The win improves the Sea Gulls to 15-2 on the year.

The Spartans would come out of the gates and build a 4-1 lead less than 15 minutes into the game. Finally, the Sea Gulls would seem to find their rhythm, getting an easy score off a free position shot from Hannah Young. Then Dana King would work in a pretty goal late in the half, spinning back towards the near post and firing low past the keeper. SU then went on a good run to open up the second half, getting goals from Emma Wall, Allie Hynson and Gabrielle Mongno. The Spartans would answer and the teams would find themselves tied again with under 10 minutes to go. That’s when SU would take the lead for good, off a goal from Megan Wallenhorst.

The Sea Gulls now advance to the CAC Title game which will be played next Saturday.
