Salisbury University marks April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Salisbury University’s Campus Against Violence Program is marking Sexual Assault Awareness Month with a series of events in April.
Aimed to teach people about sexual violence and educate them on how to prevent sexual violence.
Officials plan to have a night of remembrance and support as sexual assault survivors are honored through personal stories, music, performances, and a candlelight vigil.
A counselor from Salisbury University says they want students to know their voices will be heard.
“Its important to show solidarity for the victims and to provide this type of setting where people can feel empowered to share their experience and to know the campus community is behind them and there for them,” says Jessica Chittams, Resource Counselor at Salisbury University.
The Take Back the night takes place April 29th from 7-9pm in Holloway Hall.
Admission is free and the public is invited.
