Salisbury gets rolling again with roller derby season

Roller Derby is back in Salisbury with the season kicking off Saturday night for the The Wicomikazis and the Salisbury Rollergirls All Stars.

Matches are held at the Mitchell’s Martial Arts and Fitness center.

Advanced general admission for those ages nine and older are $10. Meanwhile, advanced tickets for senior citizens, college students, and active and veteran military personnel are $8.

Tickets at the door are $12.

Before the game 47 ABC was able to catch up with one the roller girls, who told fans what they can expect.

“It’s a very fast moving intense game, we are family friendly, but it is a sport, it’s full contact, it’s not the ’70s, nobody’s punching each other or pulling hair anymore, we have rules, about 40 pages of them,” said Christina Williams.

The season goes from now until mid- September.
