Saints Stay Perfect, Top Mardela

The Saint Michaels softball team remained perfect on the year when they traveled to Mardela on Thursday and earned a 5-0 win. The win improves the Saints to 8-0, while the loss drops the Warriors to 13-3.

The Saints would grab a small lead early, taking advantage of a couple miscues from the Warriors defense. Kalie Adkins would continue to pitch well as Mardela would be down just 1-0 after 3. McKenna Browning was dealing for the Saints as well, as she limited the base runners all day for the Warriors. Melissa Richardson would hit a RBI single in the 4th to score Sam Romberger. Angelica Sichette then hit a liner to left to score Richardson. Th lead then reached 5-0 after Layla Berry would score off a pass ball. The Warriors would clean up their defense and continue to battle, but could never get to Browning to get their bats going.

Saint Michaels returns to work on Monday when they host Queen Anne’s, while Mardela faces Parkside on Monday.
