Saints Softball Edges Colonel Richardson In Extras

The Saint Michaels softball team pulled out a 4-3 win over Colonel Richardson on Tuesday in a big Bayside North showdown. The win improve the Saints to 4-0, while the loss drops the Colonels to 3-3.  The Colonels would take a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st, only to watch the Saints respond with 2 quick runs in the bottom of the frame. The lead would hold as the game developed into a pitchers duel between Saint Michaels Browning and CR’s Plugge. The Saints would then stretch their lead to 3-1 after an inside the park home run in the 4th. The lead would hold all the way to the top of the 7th, where the Colonels would fight their way back to tie up the game. The teams would go to extras, where the Saints would take the game in walkoff fashion in the 8th. Saint Michaels returns to action on Thursday when they host Pocomoke, while Colonel Richardson takes on North Dorchester on Wednesday.
