Saints Come Marching In At Mardela

The Saint Michaels baseball team picked up another win Thursday afternoon when they traveled to Mardela and pulled out a 13-5 win. The win improves the Saints to 8-1, while the loss drops the Warriors to 9-5.

Saint Michaels would jump out to a quick lead. Noah Brack would have a 2 RBI single to help the lead reach 8-1 before the Warriors finally got going. Mardela would have a chance to answer back with the bases loaded with 1 out, when a line drive was caught on a diving play in center field to save a bases clearing extra base hit. Mardela kept pushing though, and would eventually plate a pair of runs off a 2 RBI double by Hunter Niblett. Saints would answer back though with a big 7th inning. The lead would reach 13-2 after they plated 5 runs, including 1 off a RBI single from Nathan Howeth. Mardela didn’t go away quietly, scoring 3 runs in the 7th including a towering solo shot to right by Cole Lambrose. The Saints would close it out for the win though.

Saint Michaels returns to action on Monday when they host Queen Anne’s, while Mardela host Parkside on Monday.
