Riding lawn mower causes garage fire in Delmar

A garage fire in Delmar, has been ruled as accidental. The Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal says the fire started around 3:10 PM on Thursday, inside of a wood framed residential outbuilding on Pembroke Drive.
Officials say the homeowner of the 18′ x 24′ structure discovered the flames, to which 15 firefighters from the Parsonsburg Fire Department responded, and had the blaze under control in 15 minutes.
Investigators say the fire started inside of the garage, from a malfunction with a riding lawn mower. The fire has been ruled accidental. No injuries were reported. Damages are estimated to total $12,500.
