Ravens Fly Past William Penn.

The Sussex Tech baseball team picked up an impressive non conference win Saturday afternoon, when they defeated William Penn. 7-2. The win improves the Ravens to 4-4 on the year.
Tech would take an early lead with a run in the first, before adding another one in the second off a wild throw to 1st allowed a run in from 3rd. The Ravens would then get an RBI single in the 3rd from Kyle Lux as the lead would eventually stretch to 4. William Penn would then have an answer in the 4th. They would work the bases loaded with no outs, before Justin Hill would force a ground ball to 3rd. The relay from 2nd to 1st was late, but the ump would rule runner interference on the slide, turning it into a double play. The Colonials would then get a base knock to right that drove in a run, but a runner for William Penn would try and take 3rd, only to get gunned down by Luke Oliphant. The bats then got red hot for the home team in the bottom of that inning. They would plate 3 more runs, highlighted by a 2 run double to left by Trent Hearn. The pitching would do the rest as they held on for the win.
Sussex Tech returns to action on Tuesday when they host Laurel.
