Rams Park Decaturs Undefeated Season

The Parkside baseball team picked up their 5th straight win Friday afternoon when they traveled to Stephen Decatur and handed the previously undefeated Seahawks their first loss of the year 2-0. The win improves the Rams to 12-5, while the loss drops the Seahawks to 14-1.
The Rams would strike first after getting an RBI single up the middle from Collin Green to score Lucas Holmes. The Rams would then stretch their lead to 2-0 in the 4th after Dylan White would be able to take home off a pass ball. Despite the early deficit, Will Sass was pitching a great game for Decatur and was able to work his way out of a lot of jams. Problem for Decatur was, the same could be said for Parkside’s Grant Burleson. A couple fielding errors in the 5th allowed the bases to get loaded with no out. Burleson was then able to get a strike out, an infield fly, and then a ground out to get out of the inning with no damage done.
The Seahawks kept it a 2 run game after Sean Fisher would send a shot to right. The relay would find Triston McDounough at 1st, who would rifle it home in time to save the run. But Fisher would come in on relief for Parkside, and slam the door shut for the big win.
Parkside returns to work on Wednesday when they travel to Queen Anne’s, while Decatur travels to Bennett on Tuesday.
