Princess Anne man arrested on drug and gun charges

Maryland State Police say a Princess Anne man was arrested of multiple charges following a Salisbury traffic stop.

We’re told just before 11 p.m. Thursday on Waverly Drive in Salisbury, Shamaya Boston was stopped for an inoperative tag light. Police say a trooper smelled marijuana coming from the inside of the her car. We’re told after two troopers searched her vehicle, they found a loaded 9mm handgun and over 23 grams of suboxone on the passenger, Dre’ontae Nixon of Princess Anne. Police say a small amount of marijuana was found on Boston.

Authorities say Boston was issued a civil citation for Possession of Marijuana (less than 10 grams). She was apparently released at the scene.

As for Nixon, police say he was charged with Possession of Fire Arm (use during a felony), Drug Trafficking and Possession of a Controlled and Dangerous Substance with intent to distribute.

Nixon was reportedly taken to the Wicomico Detention Center.
