Police: Grandmother assaulted over dinner

Police say an Easton man is behind bars after he allegedly assaulted his grandmother.

The incident happened just after 9 p.m. Friday on the 1000 block of North Washington Street, police announced Sunday.

The victim reportedly told Easton Police her grandson Jyhime Tabbar James, 20, had assaulted her because he was not brought the dinner he wanted.

Authorities say James shoved her and also threw a cell phone at her. We’re told it missed her head but stuck the drywall of the apartment.

James was arrested and charged with one count of second degree assault and one count of malicious destruction of property under $1,000. James was held at the Talbot County Detention Center on a 5,000 dollar bail.
