Police arrest two in strong arm robbery

Officers of the Easton Police Department say, two men have been arrested after they allegedly attacked a woman Wednesday night.

19-year-old Jaurice Henry of Easton and 40-year-old Demetric Savoy of Hurlock have been arrested for a number of charges such as robbery, assault, and false imprisonment. According to police, they received a distress call just before 10 PM in the area of Dover Road and Choptank Avenue. Upon arrival, officers met a woman who reportedly said she was walking when she noticed two men running towards her, that’s when she began to run. The suspects apparently caught up to her and one of them grabbed her purse and started running.

After a search of the area, police say that same night an officer saw a man matching the description given by the victim and approached him, he then started to run. After a short foot pursuit, the subject was detained and was identified as Henry. A further investigation reportedly lead to identifying Savoy as the second suspect.Police say he was arrested Thursday.

Henry is being held on a $50,000 bond and Savoy a $100,000 bond.
