Operation “taste of home”

The Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay Council donated 300 cases of cookies Tuesday, to the non-profit organization Operation We Care, to ensure our troops overseas get a taste of home.

Girl Scout officials tell 47 ABC that all the troops in the area worked to collect donations so that these cookies could be sent abroad, as well as to a few local non profits in the area.

The cookies will be included in care packages by Operation We Care during their May packing party.

“it’s really great and we get so many letters from the service people stationed overseas, just they appreciate that little taste of home, you know something that’s familiar and it’s just like such a nice surprise when it shows up on the bases,” said Denise Eberspeaker.
