Tyrell M. Waters, 24 of Lincoln, Del.

Troopers say they arrested a Lincoln man, after a short pursuit through Harrington.

Delaware State Police say just before 9:10 AM on Tuesday, Troopers on patrol in Harrington, when they spotted 24-year-old Tyrell Waters, who was wanted by Harrington and Dover Police Departments, for domestic assaults. According to the report, Waters was leaving Friendship Village off West Street, when the Trooper tried to stop the silver 1999 Mercedes Benz that he was driving.

The Troopers were reportedly in the area, assisting the Harrington Police Department on a domestic incident that occurred in Clarks Corner Apartments. After the Trooper tried to stop the Benz, Investigators say Waters continued through Harrington and across South DuPont Highway – Route13, onto Carpenter Bridge Road, before turning southbound on Jackson Ditch Road.

Police say at this point, Waters crashed into a 2016 Ford Fusion that was being driven by a 27-year-old Milford man, near  Lillian Drive. According to the report, Waters then got out of his car, which caught on fire, and ran into a nearby patch of woods, where Troopers were able to take him into custody, after a brief struggle.

Police say Waters was then taken to Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries, and released. He was then taken to Troop 3 in Camden, where he was charged with a felony charge of resisting arrest with force, a felony count of disregarding a Police Officer’s signal, offensive touching of law enforcement officer, and reckless driving. He was later ordered to be held on a 5,001 secured bond at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center.

Waters also apparently had eight capiases out of various courts in Kent and Sussex counties. The 27-year-old operator of the Ford Fusion was apparently uninjured in the crash.
