Information sought in Smyrna serious assault

Troopers are investigating an incident that apparently left a 63-year-old man, in critical condition.

Delaware State Police say the Kent County Regional Communication Center contacted them on Wednesday afternoon, asking for Troopers to respond to a home on Blackbird-Greenspring Road, in Smyrna, for the report of an unconscious male. Once on scene, Police say they learned that a 63-year-old man had been found inside of his vehicle, parked on his property. Investigators say the man had obvious signs of injuries on his body.

He was treated at the scene by Kent County Paramedics, before being taken to a local hospital by EMS, where he was admitted in critical condition. Police say their investigation is still in the preliminary stages, and that they are limited was details are released, as not jeopardize the integrity of the investigation.
