Howard High School resumes classes after student’s death

(AP) Classes at Howard High School in Wilmington are set to resume after a 16-year-old student was killed in a fight at the school.
According to the school’s website principal Stanley Spoor, of Howard released a statement saying, classes for all students resume Monday. This is the the first day of regular classes at the school since Thursday, when Amy Joyner-Francis died after a fight in one of the school’s restrooms. Spoor statements also says they will continue to have additional counselors available throughout the day for any students that need the support.
Wilmington police say the sophomore was involved in a fight with several female students. Police have not disclosed a possible motive and no charges have been filed in the case.
A community meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday at Stubbs Elementary School.
