Hillary Clinton campaigns in Delaware

Delaware Governor Jack Markell shouted from inside the World Café Live at the Queen in Wilmington, “Ladies and gentlemen, the next president of the United States of America, Hillary Clinton!”
An explosion of applause followed his announcement. Clinton was making her rounds on Monday as she now has less than 24 hours until the Delaware primary.
Clinton says, “This is one of those elections that really poses a stark choice.”
The former Secretary of State took Monday to reaffirm her stance on some critical issues in U.S. Job creation and raising incomes were the first she addressed. She plans to use her husband’s booming success in the White House as a guide to improve those areas.
Clinton says, “I think a lot of people, particularly young people who didn’t live through that, or weren’t old enough to appreciate it, they’re saying ‘Well okay if that happened then why didn’t it continue?’ Well I’ll tell you why. It’s because we had a republican president.”
During Bill Clinton’s presidency, 23 million new jobs were created and the median family income rose 17 percent. The former First Lady claims she’s dedicated to get back to those numbers, and better. She also is guaranteeing not to raise taxes on the middle class. However, her biggest cheers came from her push for gun control and equal pay.
Jo Anne Barnes says, “She is so strong, and so clear on those issues as well as affordable healthcare. She just covered it all. She’s just great.”
Hillary Clinton touched on dozens of issues impacting Americans across the country. However, she also honed in on the ones impacting Delawareans.
Clinton continues, “It was heartbreaking to hear about the young woman Amy Anita Joyner Francis who was killed here in Wilmington the other day, in a fight. We can’t let this go on.”
Sylvia Banks says, “She does her homework and she knows who she’s talking to. That’s very important.”
Although it was clear Clinton did want to focus on her plans for America, she did take a couple digs at her opponents.
She continues, “If you want be president of the United States, you have get familiar with the United States. You have to spend time with Americans of all sorts and backgrounds in every part of our country. Don’t just fly that big jet in, land it, and go make a big speech and insult everyone you can think of.”
However, the bottom line remained the same. “Get out the vote.” Clinton says, “If you go out and vote for me tomorrow I will stand up and fight for you through this campaign and all the way to the White House.”
Hillary Clinton is leading Bernie Sanders by more than seven hundred delegates. However, with more than sixteen hundred delegates still up for grabs, Sanders still has the ability to earn enough to get the nomination.
