Gov. Markell announces expansion of SEED program

Today Governor Markell announced legislation that would expand scholarships that provide two-years of free college tuition to Delaware students.
We’re told the bill would expand the state’s Student Excellence Equals Degree or “SEED” program.
The Governor’s proposal would modify the program to allow for free tuition for an associate’s degree even if students have to attend school part-time or take a semester off.
Right now, the program is open to in-state students who graduate and maintain at least a 2.5 GPA who stay in good standing with the law.
