Election polls open as Pocomoke City seeks new council members

City elections for Pocomoke City are underway Tuesday evening, as  voters will be choosing city council members for two districts.

In District 1; Incumbent George Tasker is being opposed by Shelia Nelson. While in District 2; Incumbent Diane Downing is running unopposed.

Polls are open until 7 PM on Tuesday. 

According to officials, Councilwoman Downing was the only council member to vote against firing former police chief Kelvin Sewell.

Now officials say, Sewell is currently in the middle of a lawsuit against Pocomoke City and Worcester County.
