Easton man charged for hitting same parked car twice

Police in Easton say, they have charged a 63-year-old man with DUI offenses after he apparently hit a parked car twice.

According to the Easton Police Department, on Saturday officers responded to the area of Corbin Parkway and Boyd Court for a report of property damage. When the officers arrived they were reportedly told that the at fault car had left the scene but then turned around and struck the same car a second time and then left again.

During the investigation police discovered George Rapp, of Easton hit a parked car owned by Sarah Trippet of Ridgely. Officers reportedly found Rapp driving away from the crash very slowly. Officers say they detected a strong odor of an alcoholic on Rapp and he was later arrested after failing a sobriety test.

Rapp was later charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence per se, driving while impaired by alcohol, failure to control speed to avoid a collision and failing to stop after and unattended vehicle property damage accident. He was later released upon his signature to the citations.
